Finally in the new millennium we are able to digitally purchase the classic Star Wars Lucasarts games X-Wing and TIE Fighter! Both games are $9.99 each right now on GOG.com (that’s Good Old Games for the uninitiated.)
You get both the original version and the ’98 Special Edition version as well.
Those of you who remember the Special Editions will no doubt remember that you had to play the game with a joystick. No, really, you had to or else you get this message:
And yup, that message is still there in these new digital versions. If you wanted to use mouse and keyboard you would have to play the original version, not the ’98 Special Editions. It’s actually a blessing as dogfighting with a joystick is the only way to go.
