Welcome to the SP550 Gameport Fusion Stick support pages. Here you will find commonly requested files such as game configurations and the latest software, answers to commonly asked questions and step-by-step guides to help you get the most out of your SP550 Gameport Fusion Stick.
Q1: My buttons have stopped responding on my SP550. Why is this?
A1: This is an unusual problem that only occurs on some people's machines. We have found that it is not a faulty stick causing this usually so the fix is as follows; Try going into Game Controllers and then into the test screen. Now unplug the stick from the back of the PC and blow into the socket on the end of the lead as if you were blowing some dust out and then plug it back in. Click retry on the error message that pops up and then try the buttons again - they should be working.

When I add the SP550 Pad into Game Controllers it shows as Not Connected. Why?
A2: There could be a couple of reasons for this. First make sure that you are removing everything from Game Controllers/Gaming Options before adding in the pad on it's own. If it is still Not Connected then it may be a consequence of the buttons not working problem so add the stick back in and follow through the fix in the FAQ above. Then remove the stick and add the pad back in - it may then be OK.

Q3: My Controller isn't working in my game, why is this?
or
My controller is not performing correctly in my game, what's happening?
A3: The first thing to check if the controller isn't working in the game is whether it is working in Game Controllers/Gaming Options in Control Panel. You can do this following the instructions in the General FAQ. If it is working okay in there then we know the controller is okay and problem has to do with the game itself.
First, make sure that the game actually supports game controllers, because some PC games just don't (if you're unsure you should contact the game publisher for more info on this).
Secondly, make sure you have correctly enabled the controller in the game's control options screen - most games have an options screen where you have to set up the controls - if this is a little unclear to you then the best people to contact this are, again, the publisher of the game as they will be more familiar with the game's inner workings.
Thirdly, the game may well need an update to correct an existing problem that the game may have shipped with. Always check the game's website to see if there are any updates for it (typically called Patches).

Windows 2000/XP
Although it is not recommended, this controller should work fine under Windows 2000 and XP although you should not use the driver disk that came supplied with it. Simply go into Game Controllers in the Control Panel and, if using the stick and pad plugged together then click Add and choose a 6 button Joystick w/POV and throttle from the list and click OK. If using the pad on it's own then remove the stick entry from the main controllers panel and then click Add and choose 6 button gamepad and then click OK. You can then calibrate as normal.
